Godolla Palace and Garden
On Tuesday morning, Joe and I were supposed to take a "Taste of Budapest" tour, which was to include cultural as well as culinary tastes. However, we were feeling pretty exhausted from the fast pace of the trip to date, so we decided to take it easy. Our day consisted of:
Put baggage outside of hotel door by 8 a.m. (which inadvertently included the hotel door closing being us and getting locked out, and then an embarrassing trip in stocking feet to the front desk to get a key)
Nap until 10, check out of the hotel at 10:00
Buffet breakfast at the hotel
Hang out in lobby until Noon
Bus to cruise ship at Noon
Lunch on cruise ship
Afternoon nap on the ship
Dinner
It felt good to do nothing and get caught up on some much-needed rest.
Meanwhile, Denise and Tom, with never-ending energy, went on a tour of the Godolla Palace and Garden. Godolla is an architecturally beautiful palace that was built in the 18th century. It has a double U-shape and is surrounded by an enormous park. The Palace has 8 wings, and besides the residential part, it has a church, theater, riding-hall, and greenhouse.
